Who is it for

This course is for candidates who require an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate to comply with HSE requirements. This is a HSE approved and certified course.

What is it about

This course will cover the Role of the First Aider including;

  • Communicating with a casualty
  • Contents of First Aid kit and avoiding cross infection
  • Recording of incidents and accidents
  • Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safety, promptly and effectively in an emergency;
  • Administer first aid to a casualty who is:
  • Unconscious (including seizures)
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Choking
  • Wounded & Bleeding
  • Shock
  • Minor Conditions – including minor cuts, grazes & bruises, minor burns & scalds and small splinters

Assessment: Continuous assessment by observation and questions

Renewal: Valid for 3 years or as directed by the HSE. Renewed by EFAW course.
