Key first aid skills and techniques
Who is it for
This course is for candidates who require an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate to comply with HSE requirements. This is a HSE approved and certified course.
What is it about
This course will cover the Role of the First Aider including;
- Communicating with a casualty
- Contents of First Aid kit and avoiding cross infection
- Recording of incidents and accidents
- Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safety, promptly and effectively in an emergency;
- Administer first aid to a casualty who is:
- Unconscious (including seizures)
- Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation
- Choking
- Wounded & Bleeding
- Shock
- Minor Conditions – including minor cuts, grazes & bruises, minor burns & scalds and small splinters
Assessment: Continuous assessment by observation and questions
Renewal: Valid for 3 years or as directed by the HSE. Renewed by EFAW course.
